Before the Test:
- Get plenty of rest the night before the test.
- Eat a nutritious breakfast the day of the test.
- Come up with the answer in your head before looking at the possible answers, this way the choices given won’t trick you.
- Eliminate answers you know aren’t correct.
- Read all choices before choosing your answer.
- Don’t keep changing your answer; usually your first choice is the right one, unless you misread the question.
- A positive choice is more likely to be true than a negative one.
- Usually the correct answer is the choice with the most information.
- Answer each question. With the North Carolina End-of-Grade and End-of-Course Tests, you are not penalized by having a wrong answer…your scores come from the number of correct answers you have.
